Ancestral Body

Ancestral Body is a scenic ritual freely inspired by the book The Wind and the Thunder by the activist and indigenous leader Kaká Werá. The work dilates time in imagistic landscapes that continuously transform into the bodies of the performers, where female bodies, feathers, branches, and elements of nature evoke the memory of the original peoples.
Intertwining past, present, and future, the performance traverses the stories of Pindorama, reflecting on devastation, resistance, and belonging. In a sensitive and ritualistic experience, Corpo Ancestral invites the audience to immerse themselves in the spiritual dimension of existence, celebrating the impermanence of life and the continuity of ancestry as a force that traverses bodies and time.
